What devices is the M2 tracker compatible with? +
The M2 tracker is made for laptops with an extra M.2 (2280) slot, like many gaming and professional Windows laptops by ASUS, Lenovo Legion, Gigabyte, MSI, Dell, HP Omen, Alienware, Razer and also many Workstation class Laptops such as HP Envy, Lenovo Thinkpad and Dell Precision Line.

It is also compatible with many desktop computers, especially if it is a higher-end motherboard. If your desktop computer has no second M2 port, you could also use a 2.5" M2 adapter. Check your computer specifications for precise compatibility. It is not compatible with MacBooks, most laptops under 15 inches, Entry-grade Desktop computers, Chromebooks, or tablets.
Is it compatible with MacBooks? +
No, MacBooks already have built-in tracking. The M2 tracker is designed for Windows laptops and computers that do not have this feature built-in.
How is the M2 tracker powered, and how long does the battery last? +
The M2 tracker is powered by the computer's own power source as long as the computer is turned on. When the computer is turned off, it runs on a small CR2016 battery. One battery lasts about 6-12 months depending on usage environment, before you need to change it.
Can I track my M2 tracker in real-time? +
The M2 uses Apple’s Find My network, which updates automatically when it’s near another Apple device. It’s not 100% real-time like GPS, but it’s very fast and reliable in normal conditions.
What happens if someone removes or disconnects the M2 tracker? +
If the tracker is removed or the laptop is turned off, the last known location will still be shown in the Find My app.
Does it emit sound or light? +
Yes, when the device starts up for the first time, you will see a small blue tiny indicator light, which is turned off after first pairing is successful. Whenever you want to locate the device, you can use the Apple Find My app to play a sound.
Do I need a subscription? +
No subscription required — uses Apple’s Find My network at no extra cost.
Can I share the tracking with others? +
Yes, you can share M2 location with trusted contacts via Find My’s share feature.
What if someone removes the tracker? +
If the M2 tracker is removed, it will continue to work. Only when the backup battery is removed, the tracker stops completely working. You can see its last known location in the Apple Find My app.
Can I transfer the M2 tracker between different devices? +
Yes! You can move it to a new laptop if you want. Just remove it carefully and install it into the new device.
